My name is Carl Fielding, and I am the Reception & Year One Class Teacher! 

I have been at Llanyrafon for over a year, starting as a PPA Teacher. I really enjoyed my time doing this as I was able to get to know all the children and build up lovely relationships across the setting. I love it when I pop up to Juniors, when I can to have a chat with the children I had the pleasure of teaching! I completed my NQT last year within Year One and I had the best year, and I can't wait for my second year of teaching, in Reception too, which is something I've always wanted to do! 

I have graduated in July 2023 from the University of South Wales with BA Primary Education with QTS. This was an amazing experience as I had the opportunity to see education change before my eyes with the introduction of the COVID restrictions! I am also currently completing my Level 4 Leadership and Management Course!

I am really lucky to lead Diversity across our wonderful school! We have been super lucky to have staff training from No-Boundaries! This year, my focus is developing on our training from last year, to diversify our curriculum, and contribute to Wales' vision of an Anti-Racist Wales by 2030. We also have a commitment to talking to our children to different characteristics protected in the Equality Act 2010, such as LGBTQ+, Disabilities, Gender and Religion.

Outside of work, I am a passionate performer and have been involved with amateur dramatics since I was 6! I also live at home with my fiancé, and our two dogs: Artie and Pluto! We love going on long walks with our lovely dogs!

Like many teachers across the setting, I have an open-door policy and I am already to discuss any queries and questions you may have!
