Welcome to Year 4
Good evening everyone!
We've had a fantastic start to our new school year and it's been wonderful to welcome back, and be able to get to know, our brilliant Year 4 learners!
Over the course of Autumn Term much of our learning will be inspired and guided by our Humanities-focused topic 'I Have A Dream'. Throughout our study of this topic we'll explore the conflict and cooperation that arose from the Civil Rights movements of the 1950s and 60s, and marked this important and fascinating period of human history.
Though grounded firmly in Humanities, 'I Have A Dream' will offer our learners plentiful rich and authentic opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills across all areas of learning, from Literacy to Expressive Arts to Health and Wellbeing, whilst simultaneously ensuring that they have a good awareness of social issues that have shaped the world that we live in and still persist to this day.
Below you'll find some examples of the over-arching topic planning that will inform our learning over the coming weeks, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you feel you can offer some expertise or ideas to help bring this topic to life!
Thanks, Mr Webster and Mrs Driscoll
